21 Day Fix Round 1: Day 6

Today started with a change of plans for me.  Originally I had planned on going for a long run and then killing my Dirty 30 workout, but my step-daughter’s volleyball game time was changed, so there is no way my run could happen.  I could have still done my Dirty 30 workout, but then if I run tomorrow, I won’t have any “rest” day.  So I decided to switch things a little bit and make today my active rest day and I will go for my run and do Dirty 30 tomorrow.  So that being said, I got up this morning and got some yoga done!  It felt great to start the day out that way.

Once I had my “work out” out of the way, the kiddo and I made muffins.  Today was his day to bring snacks to his soccer game and I really wanted to give the kids some thing a little more healthy than just a bag of carbs and sugar, so we made some Power muffins and orange slices.  I will post the recipe later this week, but they are packed with protein and made with whole grains.  I had 2 of them for my breakfast, they were so yummy.  (2 muffins = 1 yellow and 1/2 purple)  I will post the recipe later this week.

By the time we got home from soccer and shopping for Halloween decorations I was starving! I missed my morning snack and it was after lunch time. Not a smart move on my part.  So I threw together one of my go to dishes… eggs, sausage and zucchini with a little coconut oil in the pan.  (2 red, 1 green, 1 tsp)

Mayson and I spent the afternoon decorating the house for Halloween.  I can’t wait to see it once it gets dark. We hung up lights outside and got this cute little scarecrow ghost.  Isn’t he cute?  Only $8.  Now I just hope he holds up to wind and rain!  Most of the other decorations we got were from the Dollar Store.   We got some really cute stuff.

I guess I worked up an appetite from all the decorating so I refueled with my usual Shakeology, Vegan Chocolate, instant coffee and 1/2 of a frozen banana.  Yum (1 red, 1 purple)

For dinner tonight I roasted some zucchini, and served it with some low carb meatballs that I made a few weeks ago and froze, they are so yummy and moist.  I usually buy Rao’s Marinara sauce because they don’t add any sugar and it’s the cleanest store bought sauce I have found, but the store didn’t have it when I went grocery shopping, so I tried a different sauce that looked pretty similar from the ingredients.  I also made some Dreamfields pasta.  Have you heard of it before?  Its supposed to be a healthier carb pasta with lots of fiber in it.    (1 red, 1 yellow, 1 green, 1/2 purple)img_3623
