21 Day Fix Round 1: Day 4

Here I am, on day 4!  I woke up still feeling a little blah.  I came up stairs and my kitchen is a mess.  Ugg I hate that.  I left it that way when I went to bed, so it’s my fault.  But still… shouldn’t there be some kitchen cleaning fairies that come at night and clean or something?  I kind of cleaned up while the kiddo was eating breakfast and then as soon as he got on the school bus, I went out for an interval run.  Yep, it’s another training day for my 15K!  I really didn’t want to do it, but I did it anyway.  I ran up a hill 6 times!  Pretty exciting that I actually made it to the top!!!!  I will be posting my blog post about this weeks training on Saturday, so you should check back and read it!

Today I’m going to try lower fix again.  I’m really hoping my elbow cooperates.  I’m just not sure what to do about it.  I guess I will get my 2 pound weights ready just in case, and I guess worst case I go without weights.

So I don’t know if you have noticed yet or not, but I try to write at different times throughout the day instead of writing my whole post at the end of the day.  I like to do it as I go so you can actually see how I was feeling in that moment.  That being said, today was a busy day, so I didn’t get to write as often as I wanted but…. my breakfast this morning was good.  After running in the cold gloom I wanted to have a hot breakfast so I made some hot cereal.  I have some cereal that has quinoa, flax, and oats.

It was yummy with some strawberries and bananas mixed and even a little butter.  Yep you read that right… butter!!!  I was watching a video that Autumn did yesterday where she asked questions and one of them was whether we could have butter on the program and the answer was yes as long as it’s organic butter.  I have use Kerrygold butter for a couple years now.  It’s great butter!  I put 1 tsp of butter in my cereal.   As you can see from my pic, I take full advantage of my yellow container…. if the lid will fit I’m gonna eat it!

After breakfast I decided it was time to eat that frog and get leg day done! (Have you ever read that book, Eat That Frog? It’s all about how to stop procrastinating, you should check it out.) I didn’t use any weights and I felt the burn even more than I do when I use weights. I got lower and deeper into my squats and lunges, I’m going to be sore for sure tomorrow.

After my workout it was time to refuel with my morning snack. I changed it up completely today and had a Vegan Tropical Strawberry packet with a purple container of frozen berries. It was so yummy and such a refreshing change.  1 red and 1 purple

Did you know today is National Coffee Day? Well I didn’t take advantage of any of the cheap coffees or free coffees, but I did have a nice warm coffee after my shakeology. It was so warm and cozy.  1 yellow

 

 

I spent from the time I finished my workout until Mayson got home from school sitting at my desk working. I took about 15 minutes to put together some prepped meals for the next couple days using the seasoned ground beef I made yesterday. Since I chose to have the yellow in my coffee, I had taco salad for lunch today with some avocado.  1 red, 1/2 purple, 1/4 blue, 2 greenimg_3555

Then I prepped a couple more meals of tacos that included half of a blue container of cheese and half of a container of avocado. Yum! I can’t wait for lunch tomorrow! img_3554

This afternoon I really wanted something crunchy and I’m out of carrots, pickles were my only option. They aren’t the best choice because of the sodium in them, but let me tell you a pickle wrapped in a slice of turkey…. yum! Not something I will do frequently, but nice for a crunchy change!

Tomorrow’s workout is Cardio Fix.  It’s a tough workout, very challenging.  Thank goodness for the modifier!  Haha.  But there are no weights so it will give my elbow another day to rest before I hit the weights again on Saturday with Dirty 30.  Dirty 30 is one of my favorite workouts in the whole program.

Tonight was the last night of my pumpkin curry. So yummy. I will definitely be making it again. I heated up a single serving of some wild rice to go with it. And I also finished off the honey glazed beets and carrots. Super yummy dinner to finish off the day.

Now it’s time to search pinterest for some new recipes to try and to make my plan for next week.  I bet you can’t wait to see what I come up with….
